We built a system that estimates emotions in real time from the 468 facial landmarks extracted by MediaPipe Face Mesh. Instead of a black box we chose a rule-based, explainable approach — every prediction's reasoning is traceable.
Running live on a webcam, this R&D project is a practical computer-vision example that can underpin UX research and interactive applications.
